"To Taphne and Friends, the wonderful spirit of DBInn! We have ventured to Independence
a number of times over the past 10 or so years and have always cherished the stop at the
Davis-Bourne, whether for and elegant and delicious dinner or for the deep rest provided
with always great overnight hospitality. Taphne, our memories only get better, deeper
and your amazing vision for this place - both the Inn and town - are largely the inspiration
for us. I know that I am not the only guest to feel this incredible strength of your heart.
If we lived in the Independence area, B and I would count you a wonderful neighbor.
You deserve the greatest success with the business - you are already a great success "where
it ultimately matters". Our thoughts and prayers are with you, especially in these busy
months of summer that lie ahead. We will return as often as we can return to the
beautiful countryside. And now we head for Earth Day knowing that you deserve even

Our Location
The Davis Bourne Inn is located overlooking the Town of Independence in SW Virginia. Independence is the county seat of Grayson County which is home to Grayson Highlands State Park where you can access the Appalachian Trail, George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, Mt. Rogers, Whitetop Mountain which is the uppermost beginning of the Virginia Creeper Trail and the longest stretch of the New River in the State of VA.
